India Vs Pakistan 15/06/2013 - Results, Review and Statistical Highlights

The ICC Champions Trophy ODI Cricket match between India and Pakistan on 15/06/2013 kicked off with India winning the toss and electing to bowl first, the decision by MS Dhoni was surprising to many as none of the teams batting second on the pitch at Edgbaston in Birmingham were able to win chasing.  Misbah Ul Haq confessed that he would have liked batting first anyway so the toss didn't matter much.  Read on for the complete India Vs Pakistan 15/06/2013 Results along with the scorecard and review of the match.

Statistical Highlights

Despite the match being non consequential, the game was far from being a dead rubber as an India-Pakistan clash is known to always be exciting.  The match today was interrupted by rain and was reduced to 40 overs and then 22 but was still worth a watch.  Lets now take a closer look at the Batting and Bowling performance reviews of the match as it happened on 15/06/2013.

India Bowling and Batting

India's bowling on 15/06/2013 was superb throughout as they picked up regular wickets and contained the Pakistani batsmen extremely well.  Their bowling was backed up with exceptional fielding as they took all their catches and ensured they didn't miss a chance with the run outs.  The best highlights of their bowling were Ravindra Jadeja and Bhuvneshwar Kumar who picked up two wickets to ensure the results remained in their favor.

While batting, The Indian batsmen started off well but their innings was interrupted by rain twice which resulted in their overs being shortened to 36 and then 22.  They had a revised target of  102 from 22 overs which they achieved comfortably in the end.  The best highlights of their batting was once again Shikar Dhawan who scored 48 Runs.

Pakistan Batting and Bowling

Pakistan Batting on 15/06/2013 failed once again as they kept losing regular wickets and were unable to score enough runs in 40 overs.  Misbah Ul Haq and Nasir Jamshed who had done decently for them throughout the tournament were not able to do well today which made matters even worst for them as they ended up scoring only 165 Runs in 40 Overs.  The best highlights of their batting was Asad Shafiq who made a score of 41 Runs.  The results at this stage looked to be evenly balanced as the Pakistani's had a good bowling attack.

While bowling, The Pakistan bowlers were a bit disappointing as they gave away a lot of runs and were not able to pick up early wickets.  Unfortunately, their hopes of winning the final match went in vain once again as the Indians won the match comfortably towards the end.  The best highlights of their bowling was once again Saeed Ajmal who picked up a wicket.
