Statistical Highlights

During the 8th inning Dustin Pedroia hit a tiebreaking two run single to help the results tilt in favor of BOS as they won 4-2.

John Lackey (7-6) who was one of the best highlights of their play crossed his season-high of four walks in seven innings to help carry BOS to their fourth consecutive victory.

John Jaso also hit an RBI single in the fifth inning while Jed Lowrie added a homeun in the sixth for OAK.

Sean Doolittle (3-3) on the other hand allowed one hit and ended up hitting a batter just before Ryan Cook had given up on Pedroia's two-out single.

Andrew Bailey tossed a scoreless eight while Koji Uehara pitched a perfect ninth.

Jarrod Parker retired his final 16 batters and gave up on two runs and three hits in seven innings as he stroke out three.

John Donaldson's vague throw helped Mike Napoli to advance to the second after which Parker's pitch which was at a speed on 92 MPH neared Daniel Nava and hit on the right side of Bucknor's mask.  Bucknor was in pain as he went down on one knee and the second base umpire Bill Miller replaced him as the game re started with three umpires.
