Windows 8.1 Release Date has been revealed

One of the most anticipated news for the Tech Enthusiasts is here as Microsoft has finally confirmed a release date of the first major update of their latest Windows 8 Operating system.  The Company has revealed that the Windows 8.1 Release date will officially be at 12 Am on October 18th in New Zealand.  The rollout will be available in other regions in due course as a free download.

The upcoming upgrade will include update in personalization, Internet Explorer 11, Bing Search, Built in applications and cloud connectivity via the sky drive.

Apart from the release date, Microsoft has confirmed that the famous video calling application "Skype" will also be included in the upcoming update which will also feature a start button and not a start menu.  The other notable features included will be Boot to Desktop option where the users will be able to skip the start screen.

The OS released with a lot of Hype in October 2012 and sold a staggering 100 million licenses until now and has been receiving mixed reviews.  It will be interesting to see how good the update turns out to be.
