The first One Day International (ODI) cricket match between India and South Africa kicked off with the Indians winning the toss and electing to field first.  MS Dhoni once again at the toss said his spinners were still not confident of bowling with the wet ball which was the reason behind his decision. Statistical Highlights

When South Africa came in to bat, they had brilliant start with Hashim Amla and Quinton De Kock going after the weak Indian bowling.  De Kock's huge century and AB De Villiers late innings blitz ensured they reached a total of massive 358/4 in fifty overs on a pitch which was of good assistance to the bowlers,  As far as India's bowling was concerned, Mohammed Shami once again bowled well but was quite expensive, he took 3 wickets.

When India came in to bat, they were visibly under pressure on a pitch which had lots to offer to the bowlers. Dale Steyn's amazing spell of bowling followed by others who got equal assistance from the pitch ensured they won the match comfortably in the end despite Dhoni's knock of a half century.  As far as South Africa's bowling was concerned, Dale Steyn and Ryan McLaren picked up 3 wickets each.
